January 18, 2021 (Sugarland, Texas)-Master Ronnie Malina returns to the program to discuss his new book, Above and Beyond: Heartfelt Stories of the American Police Officer. This book is an attempt by Malina, a seasoned law enforcement officer, martial artist, and author to tell stories of the good works done by fellow police officers. Too often the news has been littered with tales of the “bad cop”, but Malina tells a very different story. We see humanity, generosity, and compassion through the eyes of dedicated civil servant. Malina also discusses the impact of the pandemic on his home of Sugar land, Texas, and his martial arts training. Ronnie Malina is a 5th Degree Black Belt and 17 year law enforcement officer in Rosenberg, Texas. He is also the author of a Listening to the Masters: Insight, Knowledge, and Wisdom From Today’s Martial Arts Masters (2019). Ronnie was a guest in Taekwondo Life Magazine’s podcast in 2018. He spoke with Marc Zirogiannis, about his childhood drive to train in the martial arts, his martial arts journey, and his heartfelt desire to honor his teacher, master, and mentor, Grandmaster Ralph Jaschke.
