March 1, 2021 (Colorado Springs)–USA Taekwondo announced the opening of an alternate spot on the USA Taekwondo Olympic team for the Tokyo Games. The spot is in the Female 57 KG Category. A spot has been announced for the USA Taekwondo team for the, now postponed, 2020 Olympic Games. This is an opportunity for an athlete to match skills against other potential sparring athletes for a coveted spot on Team USA. In the event a first string athlete can not compete this athlete will have the chance to shine. Applications are due by March 10, 2021.
