US Olympic Gold Medalist Wins First Round of PFLMMA 2019

May 10, 2019-Taekwondo Life Magazine joined the Press Corp at PFL1 at the Nassau Coliseum to launch the 2019 fight card for PFLMMA’s season.  The main event featured two time US Olympic Gold Medalist Kayla Harrison in her quest for the $1 million purse in her division.  Harrison won her match against Larissa Pacheco by Unanimous decision moving her to second place in the women’s rankings.

Perhaps most exciting for Taekwondo enthusiasts was the match between Sadibou Sy and  David Michaud, which ending with a 1st round KO by Sadibou , earning him 6 points in the welterweight division.  This kick resulted in the 2nd fastest stoppage in PFL history (0:17).  In speaking about the fight Sadibou said,

 I saw an opportunity for a left kick and I took it. My left kick is second to none. I hit him right where I had to. Got the job done and can now move forward. Now let’s enjoy New York and get back to training.”
