September 13, 2017 This November, throughout the United States,  citizens will be voting in local, state, and National elections for government officials.   Nassau County, NY is no exception.  In the home district of Taekwondo Life Magazine the seat for the highest position in the County, the County Executive, will be vacant.

State Senator Jack Martins has been nominated by the Republican Party to battle the Democratic nominee on the November Ballot.   Martins is the former Mineola Village Mayor, attorney, family man, and the son of Portuguese immigrants.  He has been serving the State Senate of NY for the past seven (7) years.

Most notable to our readers is the fact that Sen. Martins is a Taekwondo practitioner.  He is a student of former U.S. Olympic Coach, Grandmaster Yeon Hwan Park, the founder of the YH Park Taekwondo Academy of Levittown, NY.  Sen Martins was awarded his official Kukkiwon black belt at the 2016 NY Open Taekwondo Championships and Korean Cultural Festival, one of the regions most prestigious charitable and sports events.  He would be the first Taekwondo Black Belt to hold the position of Nassau County Executive if elected.

The Nassau County Executive elections will be held on November 7, 2017
